Welcome to my new blog "samyak kṛtam". The name of the blog is made up of two Sanskrit words - "samyak" (सम्यक्), meaning "well" or "perfect" and "kṛtam" (कृतम्), meaning " done". Samyak kṛtam is the expansion of the word "saṃskṛtam" (popularly known today as "Sanskrit" among the general public). So, next time you want to appreciate someone for a good work, consider saying "samyak kṛtam", or even just "saṃskṛtam"! ;)
This blog is created with a vision of throwing light on aspects that are samyak kṛtam (well done or perfectly done) by our ancient descendants who walked the path of life before us, came up with solutions for problems their successors (we) might ever face in our lives.
When a little child injures a finger or struggles to open a box tightly closed, an elder person is approached by the child for help. Why do we forget to do that when we grow up and face bigger challenges? The mom who knew to deal with temper tantrums of our childhood is also capable of helping us with our "depression", " stress" or "anxiety" later in our lives. Afterall, she walked our path before we did. Likewise, be it any field of interest, we aren't doing anything newer than out ancestors did. One can accept this statement only if ancient texts of knowledge are familiarised with. Music, architecture, medicine or even rocket science - name it and you have it! By reasons known and unknown the advancements of the previous generations have been lost, but thankfully documented for us to refer (sometimes available as complete texts and sometimes as incomplete excerpts). But rest assured, all of today's problems have their solutions hidden in our ancient texts - be it in Sanskrit, Tamil or other languages. This is a humble attempt to bring out the samyak kṛtam aspects of (real) history of India (which I would prefer calling Bhāratam as you would find in my future posts), written in saṃskṛtam - for a better today and a brighter tomorrow.
Stay tuned!
Happy pongal/makar sankrānti. Let's shine bright under the sun of uttarāyaṇam (northern solstice) :-)
